namco COntrols limit switches, proximity sensors & safety solutions

Namco

Namco Controls limit switches, proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors & safety solutions for industrial automation. Harsh environment reliability. Authorized distributor since 1957.

We help facilities select the right sensing technology for any application — mechanical limit switches for simple position detection, proximity sensors for non-contact sensing, photoelectric sensors for long-range detection, and safety-rated solutions for personnel protection applications where regulatory compliance and liability are concerns.

Snap-Lock Limit

Mechanical switches activated by physical contact with moving equipment. Limit switches provide position indication, end-of-travel limiting, and presence detection in applications where robust mechanical switching survives conditions that destroy electronic sensors.

Rugged limit switches for applications with shock, vibration, and harsh environmental conditions. These are the workhorses of industrial position sensing—surviving conditions in foundries, steel mills, mining operations, and heavy manufacturing that destroy lighter-duty switches.

Compact limit switches for applications where space constraints, precise repeatability, or specific environmental protection is required. Enclosed switches provide NEMA 4, 4X, 13 protection in smaller packages than heavy-duty switches.

Limit switches certified for Class I, Division 1 and 2 hazardous locations where flammable atmospheres require explosion-proof construction. These switches contain arcs and sparks within sealed housings preventing ignition of surrounding atmospheres.

Proximity Sensors

Non-contact sensing detecting metallic objects through magnetic field interaction. Proximity sensors provide position and presence detection without physical contact, eliminating wear and enabling high-speed switching in applications where mechanical limit switches wear prematurely.

Extremely compact proximity sensors for space-constrained applications in electronics assembly, medical device manufacturing, and precision equipment. These sensors provide the same reliability as full-size sensors in packages small enough for tight installations.

Sensors detecting ferrous and non-ferrous metals without contact. Inductive sensors generate oscillating magnetic fields and detect field disruption when metallic objects enter sensing range. No physical contact means no wear, enabling millions of switching cycles in high-speed applications.

Sensors detecting metallic and non-metallic materials through capacitance changes. Capacitive sensors detect objects that inductive sensors can’t sense—plastics, liquids, powders, and organic materials. Applications requiring detection of non-metallic materials use capacitive technology where inductive sensors are blind.

Photoelectric Sensors

Optical sensing detecting objects through light beam interruption or reflection. Photoelectric sensors provide long sensing ranges, detect any opaque material regardless of composition, and enable sensing applications impossible with proximity or mechanical switches.

Single housing containing transmitter and receiver with reflector returning light beam. Objects interrupting beam between sensor and reflector trigger detection. Retroreflective simplifies installation versus through-beam (only one sensor to wire) while providing longer range than diffuse sensors.

Seperate transmitter and receiver units with light beam between them. Objects interrupting the beam trigger sensing. Through-beam provides longest range and highest reliability in contaminated environments—only complete beam blockage prevents detection.

Single housing containing transmitter and receiver detecting light reflected from target object. No reflector required—sensor responds to light returned from object itself. Simplest installation (no alignment required) but shortest range and most susceptible to target reflectivity variations.
